How to Get Baby Vaccination Appointment in KSA

Vaccination is one of the most important factors while the protection of children. It helps to protect children from diseases like mumps, measles, and polio which are the most dangerous diseases. This is not just for Saudi citizens but for expatriates living in KSA as well as their families. It is important for both Saudis and non-Saudis to vaccinate their children. Saudi Arabia has made it, and it’s now easy to get an appointment (Immunization) for baby vaccination in Riyadh and other places in the Kingdom.

Many Expats living in KSA have difficulties or lack of knowledge how and where they need to get vaccinations. But don’t worry we are here to help you understand all these procedures and locations. Well, thanks to the Government of Saudi Arabia for making PHCs (Primary Health Centers) in Riyadh and across the Kingdom. Now you can book an appointment online.

How to Get an Appointment for Vaccination in KSA

You will be pleased to know that, according to the Jeddah General Directorate of Health & Affairs, vaccines are totally free to both Saudi citizens and expatriates living in KSA. However, there are methods available that can lead you through an online appointment from the MOH (Ministry of Health). Let’s explore these two methods.

Method 1: The first and easiest method is to call 937 from your landline or cell phone. The 937 is an emergency call center number of MOH, dial it and talk to them to schedule your appointment. This is an offline method and your appointment schedule can be done with ease.

Method 2: This is an online method that you can follow to get your appointment. Just go ahead and open the Google Play Store on your Android device or App Store on your iOS device. Search for the application called MAWID [appointmet]. Download and install the application.

Now log in with Absher account ID & Password.  Type and select the PHC near to you, and make it your default PH center as well. Now click the “More” option visible there. MAWID app will show dependents, click on the option “dependents”, add dependent, and enter the baby’s Iqama number, and date of birth. That’s it, the app will send a request to the nearest PH center you selected earlier.

Moreover, when the PHC approves your request. Then the baby’s name (you’ve entered while sending the approval request) will appear in your dependent section. Now click the Booking button, select the baby’s name, then select the specialty of the baby & vaccination clinic. Choose the desired date suitable to visit for a vaccination appointment, type in “Baby vaccination” and finally click on the “Book” button.

The application is easy to use and you can book your baby’s vaccination appointment in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, and Dammam. It’s a free and time-saving method for both expatriates and the people of Saudi Arabia.

What if your Child Does Not Have Iqama?

That’s not a problem anymore, all you need is to visit the nearest Government hospital. They will ask you for the birth certificate and the parent’s Iqama. Don’t forget to take Mom and DAD iqamas and the child’s birth certificate (for first vaccination only). Ensure the Iqamas are valid and have enough validity.
